Practical tips

How to memorize conjugation better

Start with the super-verbs

Memorize be, have, and do first: they appear everywhere and help you build questions, negatives, and compound tenses.

Study in families

Group similar verbs together: keep-kept-kept, feel-felt-felt, mean-meant-meant. The brain remembers patterns better than random lists.

Repeat out loud

Read the full set aloud: go, goes, going, went, gone. Hearing the rhythm helps a lot to lock in the conjugation.

Use mini sentences, not isolated words

Turn every verb into 3 tiny sentences: I go to work. Yesterday I went by bus. I have gone there before.

Short but frequent review

10 minutes a day is better than a long session once in a while. Revisit the trickiest verbs after 1 day, 3 days, and 1 week.

Switch between writing and chat

After you study about ten verbs, use them right away in the chat with Spark and ask for corrections on tenses and forms.
