The story behind Spark

An app to give everyone the chance to learn a new language for free.

Spark Tutor AI was born from a simple idea: the opportunity to learn a new language should not depend on how much you can spend on a monthly course, a premium membership, or a private tutor. Everyone deserves the chance to start practicing without excuses, without subscriptions, and without pressure.

I built this tutor because I wanted a light, open, and honest tool: something you can open today, set your own level, bring your own Gemini API key if you already have one, and just start talking in the language you want to learn. No paywalls, no hidden tiers, no locked features.

The core values are straightforward: accessibility, clarity, and respect for the learner. Grammar corrections happen in the language you already know so you actually understand them. The assistant replies in the target language, so you train reading and writing right away. Verbs and tenses stay one click away, as reminders, and every conversation is saved locally so you can go back, read it again, or export it.

Spark is intentionally “human-sized”: it is not meant to replace a teacher or a real immersion, but to be the friendly companion that helps you practice every single day, whenever you have 5 minutes, without feeling like homework.

Free by design

Built for people, not for a subscription

I didn’t want yet another language app that blocks the best lessons behind a monthly fee. Spark keeps the entire experience open and free: chat tutor, levels, tenses, verbs, archives, exports. Everything.

Flexible languages

A chance to learn at your own pace

Learning a language should be a right, not a privilege. Spark tries to remove the common excuses: you pay nothing, you bring your own Gemini key when you want, the app stays offline-friendly for the parts it can, and the pair of languages is fully flexible — not only English.

Quiet & private

Simple and respectful of your space

No ads, no tracking walls, no mandatory login. Your conversations live in your browser by default. If you ever want to stop, just export them. That’s it.
